How to Make Homemade Jam with Figs

Canning Jam
First clean or sterilize your jars thoroughly by dishwasher or boiling in water after first washing in hot sudsy water.
Put Figs, water, juice, and spices in saucepan. Add pectin per directions on box. Stir well. Next add sugar and honey stirring well. Bring to strong boil and turn down allowing to boil for 10 minutes stirring enough to prevent sticking.
After jars are sterilized and/or boiled for 10 minutes remove. Have jars and lids boiling now.
Fill jars to1/8 in from top. Add thoroughly sterilized and heated lid. You can wipe off jam around lid with new paper towel. When all jars are filled and lids in place screw on lids. Return jars to hot water bath with water about 1 in above jars. Boil for 15 to 20 min. Remove from pot with tongs. Wait for popping noise as jars seal. If a jar does not seal return to water bath and reheat for about 10 minutes.
Label and store your jars in cool dark place. Enjoy.
